Eugene Kim
Editor-in-Chief
Eugene Kim is a scholar and literary curator working at the intersection of Korean literature, Asian Gothic, and transnational aesthetics. She holds a PhD in English Literature from Kingston University and is Honorary Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Centre of Korean Studies at SOAS University of London. Her work explores how cultural sensibilities travel across languages and cultures through research, translation, exhibitions, and international literary collaboration. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Nabillera, a transnational platform dedicated to contemporary Korean literature in translation.
Beth Eunhee Hong
Managing Editor
Beth Eunhee Hong (she/her) is a writer and mixed-storyteller born in Seoul. She holds a BA in Political Science (Hons) and double minor concentrations in Women’s Studies and East Asian Language from McGill University, and a Master’s in Journalism from the University of British Columbia. Her writing and visual art explore memory, identity, intergenerational connection, and the emotional landscapes of the Korean diaspora.
As Managing Editor at Nabillera, Beth brings editorial sensitivity, cross-media insight, and a commitment to nurturing emerging voices in translation and creative practice.

Shyun J. Ahn
Founder and Former Editor in Chief
Shyun (Suhyun) Ahn translates Korean poems to English. He is the translator of Kim Hyun’s Glory Hole, and he founded and served as the editor-in-chief of Nabillera: Contemporary Korean Literature. He graduated from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and international literary and visual studies. He voluntarily left a Ph.D. program in East Asian studies at Princeton University to join the US Army as an officer candidate. You can find his latest work at shyunahn.com.

Translators
Nabillera exists because of translators.
We extend special thanks to the many translators who have generously volunteered their time and talent to bring Korean literature into English. Translation is an act of close reading, creative judgment, and deep cultural care—and every contributor helps these works travel further than they otherwise could.
From the beginning, Nabillera has also been a platform for emerging translators. Several early contributors have gone on to build flourishing careers in literary translation, including Victoria Caudle and Archana Madhavan, whose work continues to reach wider international audiences. We’re proud to have been one small step in the journeys of translators shaping the future of the field.
We remain especially excited to support new voices entering literary translation.
Nabillera is also open to partnerships with English-speaking institutions of higher learning interested in translation, Korean studies, comparative literature, or publishing. If your department or program is looking for internship opportunities, editorial training, or ways for students to gain hands-on experience in literary translation and publishing, we would be delighted to connect.
